this is what I had been searching to find
if this is the case (pun)
the dual vent application on the fire wall is back to the drawing board
relieved to see there just may be a properly positioned case vent

will need to confirm this upcoming oil change
the one thing that did flag my interest
the housing appears to have a sloped trough at the vent on this unit
almost as if someone knew the potential existed for water intrusion
the video poster mentioned "puking gear oil"
but my thoughts are that it was not for gear oil barf
