Do NOT give your dealer this SSM (49571) number. Tho' it lists the Sport in the top section, it does not in the, "Applicable Vehicles" list. This is the number I originally brought up to our dealer and after they kept the vehicle for a day, informed me that the Sport is not on the list. There...
How in the Hell could anyone (service rep or technician) believe that replacing a hose could do ANYTHING to fix contaminated fluid and or failing/failed internal components?? The original hoses were suspect of allowing contaminates in. The FRIKKEN TSB states to drain then fill the RDU with...
Recent club member.
No sound heard and no evidence of a "hit" from anything, it just started to crack, top center-left. Seemed to be stress related. Took a few days to get the replacement scheduled but it's now done.
I hope this aftermarket one holds up better than the OEM.
BS back home. They DID replace the axle, they DID replace the RDU vent hose with the upgraded version and they DID use sealer for a required drilled hole to insert the riv-stud into, to attach the hose clamp eyelet onto. They DID NOT clean up/off the slung grease. I guess we can call it a win...
Finally getting around to posting this.
It took over 8 months of back-and-forth between 2 dealers and at last, last week we got the grinding RDU replaced. I asked the rep. if we had also gotten the updated vent hose and they stated that we got the latest and greatest of everything, so yeah...
Possible shredding/slipping accessary drive belt due to faulty water pump leaking coolant onto said belt. Check your coolant tank level. Either way, a trip to the dealer seems in order.
Yeah, the belt on ours was shredded on edge in a few places. The service advisor showed it to me and said I should get it replaced. I told him it should be on Ford's dime, since it was a factory part that caused the damage. He said it was a wear item and Ford would not pay. I raised a bit of...
With ya, SmokeShowJoe.
I don't normally tell peeps, but with my Wife unit driving only 12 miles total on a work day, not minding to sit in line at drive-thrus for 30 minutes or more, it's a freaking 1.5L with a TURBO, the fact that Ford specs over 5 qts and then over 6 quarts of oil for a...
I was just trying to point out that with auto stop/start active, things die and must be brought back to life, instead of when auto stop/start is inactive and those things are simply released to go. I know that there are elements in place that make the auto stop/start systems as seamless as...
Dealer says they sould have our pump, 03-27-2023. Fingers crossed. I've grown really tired of checking the reservoir.
EDIT: 04-06-2023
Just got word the dealer finally has our pump in-hand. Go in for the fix, 04-10-2023. Be good to get this done and off our minds.
EDIT: 04-13-2023

Add OWNEROFBS's ride to the list. Already been waiting a month and still no sign of a new pump.
Most dealers just purely suck. Most likely no more Fords for us as well. We bought new in 2001 an Escape for me and in 2004 an Escape for her. Both were problematic. We were hoping that nearly 20...
I used this Zerex when I topped up the wife's recently.
