Update: for those that commented or are interested. I took my OBX to the dealer and they determined my aftermarket trailer harness was causing a malfunction and causing my brake light to not receive the proper output.
I have towed a trailer twice and had no issues and think the reason was kind...
it is the actual brake light. In the middle. It does not come on with flashes cause only the blinkers do.
it also will light up a split second after using the blinker. Then it goes back out again.
I replaced left brake light and it only comes on when starting up. It will not light up when brake is pressed, on/off etc only when the vehicle starts.
Tried a second bulb, same thing.
thoughts? Ideas?
Just all around did not sound like how a new vehicle should be running. Just louder and when accelerating sounded like it was working harder or at a higher RPM. At the time i was usually going highway speeds and cranking the radio so i rarely noticed. It was others that said, whys it so loud...
I also think brake lights need to be replaced as you stated when pressing brakes only 3rd brake light comes on. A 2 pack of bulbs is very inexpensive from auto store. I would replace the bulbs even if you think they are fine.
I had mine replaced with a non OEM/Ford glass. The local shop had it in stock and both glass and labor were cheaper. I asked about sensors and what he said (I know there will be differing opinions) is that as long as the sensors werenāt removed they need no calibration. Went on to say dealers...
The āinjector recallā as itās been referred to isnāt even a true fix. The issue is potential for a crack in the cylinder head I believe. One of the signs is an increase smell in the cab of gasoline/exhaust.
The fix is 2-part. 1: a computer upload that should signal the driver to pull over and...
I posted on another thread that I was smelling exhaust in my cab. Donāt remember if I followed up on the other thread. However, to my surprise the Ford tech found poor welds on each side of my catalytic converter that had cracks and was the root cause. Mine was replaced under manufacturer...
just got my ā21 BS OBX back from the dealership. I had a crack in the catalytic converter that was causing a gas smell and even increase noise that I clearly had been in denial about. Replaced on warranty and both gaskets on either side as well. Good experience with the dealership up here while...
I have not read all of this thread but I wanted search before making a new post. Iām about 2 pages in.
I also have an issueā¦I smell gasoline inside my cab regularly and it is getting more and more noticeable.
Currently I am on a road trip and had recall performed by a dealership about 200 miles...
I will be replacing a windshield soon. My concern is non OEM windshield not having any sound dampening. Not even sure if that is a thing, but there is a āSoundScreenā stamp bottom right and I have a fear of additional sound noise once I get a replacement?
Is there any rationale behind my fear?
Yes. Like others I agree it is the battery. My 2016 F-150 stop doing auto/stop about 6 months before my battery needed to be replaced. Auto/stop resumed as soon as the battery was changed.
I sometimes hear ācreakingā and have thought to take to my 4x4 guy and have him check my lift. But I never hear when driving over bumps or off road type obstacles. I think for me I hear the plastic, if that makes sense. Recently I loaded a bunch of stuff in the cargo area and didnāt hear...
This thread makes me feel old. My first vehicle was a 1997 F-150 and I put a 12 inch Kicker Solo-Baric sub in the back. Now I have B&O with the same sub and setup many complain about and Iām like āvolume 12 is fineā ????āāļø
Dang that is not cool. Just curious if yāall use the auto hold mode? I do and have noticed kinda hard take offs lately. Hope yāall get it fixed quick
