So, I am currently using this: https://a.co/d/iDnWqDJ
I picked mine up at Home Depot.
It works great in the winter, spring and fall. However, in the summer, my ethernet jack did fall off (I live in Southern Colorado and we get some pretty warm days around here). I haven't found anything yet...
I tried a few, but here's the ones I think fit best: https://www.autozone.com/starting-charging-and-miscellaneous-electrical/fuse-power-tap/p/bussmann-circuit-fuse-tap/547344_0_0
I did a write up of my GMRS radio/dashcam install here, but here's the relevant fuse tap picture:
They did mention my thought on the operating system for the iPod; it's just strange because my iPod running the 1.1.2 version works in the car (and according to iTunes, is "up to date" for the OS for the Classic) but the iPod running the 1.1.3 version is the one I'm getting the "not recognized"...
Thanks for this information. I did, actually, use the Google (and even tried some of the suggestions) before posting here. Sometimes you get lucky and post in a forum where someone happens to have an answer that works for solving this issue you’re having. ?‍♀️
I’ll just keep testing what I find!
Hi all,
I am wondering if anyone else has tried connecting old iPods to their system - I found one thread about an iPod Classic that couldn't connect (my iPod Classic 160 GB connects just fine to the system) but they didn't seem to have much success identifying the issue of the "This USB device...
Well, October was super busy at work and I had some trips planned, so I didn't get back to this as soon as I thought I would.
My Big Bend is missing the under dash panel that covers the fuse area, so I can't speak to getting that panel off, but popping the cover of the fuse box off isn't too...
Well, for my part, I was gifted the Midland so my choice was somewhat made for me ha. But I think that the technical answer may be that a wired radio has a better range (and also less likely to lose it somewhere). I know my friend that gifted me my radio likes the improved performance of the...
Can I ask which Micro2 fuse taps you used? I tried to use Fuse 24 but mine would not fit over the Micro3 fuse to the left (Fuse 18/19). These are what I had ordered from Amazon:

Thanks! It has been interesting doing projects on a new model car where there isn't a ton of information out there already. I figure I've gotten enough information out of various forums for previous car projects that I should make a concerted effort to contribute to this one when I can...
Hello all,
With my previous cars, I have added dashcams and some kind soul for the most part had mapped the fuses for always on/switched on so you could use fuse taps to make those accessories work with pretty minimal work on your own. I've not seen a comprehensive list yet in this forum...
In the spirit of keeping this info on a single thread, I'm going to post what I did here but if it needs to be moved, I'm happy to do so.
Thanks to everyone who's posted already - it was really helpful when I started mine.
I was gifted a Midland MXT275 radio and I went with the 3dB Ghost...
