  1. After Market Strut replacement

Has anyone replaced the factory suspension struts with after market struts? I am thinking about something with a little better handling. Our O.B. is approaching 40K miles and will need a new set of tires. It is not used off road or rock climbing. I have the 1.5" lift kit and think I might...

  4. Ford Bronco: Inquiry about 1.5-Inch Lift Kit and Tires

I put 255 55 R18 on my Outer Banks. I also put the 1.5" lift kit on it. 25,000 miles now and no problems. Keep in mind that I do not go rock climbing with this car.
  5. Rough Country 1.5" lift kit installed

My sway bar came loose with only a 1,000 miles or so and before I got the lift kit. Of course I do not do hard 4x4 driving, so that could have some bearing on how things are so far. Up to 17,000 miles now.
  6. Rough Country 1.5" lift kit installed

No change in mpg at all. The aggressive tread on these tires do give a small amount of road noise. Not enough to bother us.
  7. Rough Country 1.5" lift kit installed

Are you doing more serious off roading and rough trails?
  8. Rough Country 1.5" lift kit installed

Bdud the Ford Factory EOM is not available and the parts guy told me he does not know when it will be available. U-Haul on the other hand had the hitch in stock. Go figure...
  9. Rough Country 1.5" lift kit installed

I had U-Haul put the hitch on. Took only a couple hours. They used the 4 bolt direct mount. Great installer, he made it look factory. I only do very light hauling with the OB.
  10. Rough Country 1.5" lift kit installed

Up to now, with a few hundred miles, I have not noticed any problems at all with the lift kit. Totally unrelated to the lift kit or installation the mounting bolts for the front sway bar became loose and had to be retorqued. That did cause a rattle and clunking noise. Not sure why they...
  11. Rough Country 1.5" lift kit installed

So far so good on my lift kit. I guess time will tell.
  12. Rough Country 1.5" lift kit installed

I had my hitch installed at the U-Haul service center in Vacaville. The guy did a great job and it was only about an hour to put it on. It looks like a factory install and no indications he took the back facia off to do it. My local Ford dealer, Elm Ford, service manager refused to take on...
  13. Rough Country 1.5" lift kit installed

No. I did not think of taking any measurements. Guess I should have. Here is a before photo for comparison.
  14. Rough Country 1.5" lift kit installed

I installed the Rough Country 1.5" lift kit on my Outer Banks. It works very well. Rough Country sku: 40100. I have 29" tall 10" wide tires (255 55 R18). Next week I will have U-Haul install a hitch. Curt Class 3 Hitch 2" receiver sku: 13474.
  15. 1” lift level kit .. Is it worth it?

Thanks Chevy Guy, I sent an email to both. Will see what they say.
  16. 1” lift level kit .. Is it worth it?

I found that the AWD OB does not have any lift kits or spacer kits at this time. Only for the 4 wheel drive cars.
