I helped with a Woolworth install over the weekend so now I have experience putting in HRG and Woolworth kits. The biggest difference between the two is the rear subframe spacers included with the Woolworth kit.
I'm assuming you're both looking for a professional shop to do it, but if either of you get desperate enough you can come to my house in Midlothian and we (or me) can install it. I put my HRG kit on without catastrophe. I'm a mechanical engineer with amateur wrenching experience if it makes you...
We went last May and really enjoyed it. We're going back because we didn't get to do everything we wanted to do. Particularly backpacking South Rim in the Chisos. The wild fire forced us to scrub that from our itinerary.
I just booked campsites for the end of April, though I'm going to look...
I'm planning a trip to Big Bend National Park around mid-April ideally. Most of it will be primitive roadside camping, but we'll be spending one night backpacking in the Chisos. Is anyone interested in making the trip with us?
Aside from doing some hiking, I'm pretty interested in driving some...
When I went in October it was condensed from 1.5 days to a single day. We started early in the morning and went until dinner. I don't see how they could accomplish an early afternoon until evening schedule without cutting parts out or reducing the number of participants.
Maybe they're limiting participation for a while to just BS BL/FE and Big Bronco owners/reservation holders. The FAQ indicates they'll add details for everyone else "soon".
I'm not sure, but probably a decent chunk of change. It cost me about $450 to add my GF as a guest to my reservation. The Off-Roadeo website has a FAQ that confirms anyone can participate, though.
I thought I'd make a thread for the Texas Off-Roadeo so folks can see when people are going and maybe some forum members can meet up.
I'll be there 10/30, though I'm driving down on 10/29. I'm looking around for things to do on Friday, maybe hit some trails. If anyone out there is interested...
Oh nice, that looks like a good time. Did you scrape or bonk anything? I went to Big Bend last month and drove Old Ore Road up to Ernst Tinaja (from the south, before it gets really hairy) and Pine Canyon. Surprisingly, I bonked the undercarriage more on Pine Canyon than I did Old Ore.
BL + BL calling in from Midlothian, just south of DFW. I bounce up into the metroplex with some regularity. I have a friend that lives in Grapevine and he sees BS's semi-frequently.
