I have a 2021 Badlands and previously a Forester. The ground clearance between the two is about the same at 8.5 inches. Great for snow and off road but not what you would want for high speed cornering, even with stock tires. Before buying the Badlands I test drove a CX5 Turbo. I felt the Mazda...
This was very likely a low battery voltage issue. We had this happen on our 2021 recently. It had no other issues other than low battery voltage during crank.
You are in Ohio, I'm in PA. In PA if a trailer is equipped with brakes in PA then they MUST be used to be legal, regardless of the weight of the cargo. For 5 miles I'm not sure it would be worth worrying about in your state.
The 4 pin has GND - Stop/Right - Stop/Left - PARK
My guess is they will tap into the parking lights for a trickle charge.
The Ford 7 pin has all the above plus: Left Park - Right Park - STOP.
I test drove a CX30 before knowing about the BS. I had the Mazda Dealer looking for one that I wanted. But then Ford announced the Bronco Sport. The Mazda Dealer still hadn't come through with a CX30 so we ordered the Sport. The CX30 inside felt smaller to me.
You can do your own simple load test if you have a VOM that records MIN Voltage. Attach your VOM directly to the battery (with engine off). Reset the MIN memory on the VOM. Then start up the engine. The VOM should record the MIN starting voltage. On a healthy battery with a full charge it really...
I bought a new battery recently at Advance Auto. They refused to install it because you need to completely remove the air filter box and move around some cables.
So I did the install on my Badlands. Took about 1 hour.
And you need to reset the "battery usage" settings.
I documented the...
I would think that it should be close to the tongue weight of a trailer. I have towed 2200 lbs with my badlands. More than 50% of that was on the tongue.
Recently I had 280 lbs of bagged wood pellets in the cargo area. The BS didn't even know it was back there.
For the 2021 model year:
Left Headlight
White wire on pin4 is power
Brn - Blu on pin 3 is low beam.
Blu - Grn on pin 2 is turn
Yel-Grn on pin 14 is Turn outage
Brn on pin 15 is the LIN interface
Blk - Grn pins 8 & 9 are GND
There should be a 3 pin connector in the console for cup lighting. I don't know if the Bronco Sport wiring works the same as the escape. But here goes:
GRN-RED wire is power for ambient lighting
YEL-BLU is LIN BUS. This comes from the Body Control Module, LIN 11 bus
BLK-BLU is ground
Not sure...
