  1. Battery just died - no warnings or any signs

Some vehicles have Li-ion auto start batteries?
  2. Defective Battery, Recall 24S24 and other topics

Maybe I'm confusing and conflating what I've been reading in this forum with stuff I've read at both Ford Authority and other news channels, but my minds says something like 5 or so BS have quit while driving. After reading posts above this one not sure now if it was at speed or the "low speed"...
  3. Defective Battery, Recall 24S24 and other topics

This thread.... Wow. Am I wrong to think this has all the makings of another Ford Pinto debacle? Auto dying while driving is not some minor thing. Could be a PR catastrophe. Not even counting the Ralph Nader types and ambulace-chasing lawyers smelling blood.
  4. Defective Battery, Recall 24S24 and other topics

Same here, though a 1991 AWD Eddie Bauer extended. Loved it. The Windstar replaced the Aerostar.
  5. Defective Battery, Recall 24S24 and other topics

Me, too. All in all, have absolutely loved them. I really miss the Windstar. Would buy another in a heartbeat if it was offered again (as it was, not a transmorgified one like what happened to the Escape in MY2013). It got too little attention, but IMHO was easily the best minivan at that...
  6. Does this message pertain to the recall?

Here's some pix and a walk-through of the NOCO Genius 2D install (idea not mine; it belongs to @MAGPLM) for @mrs mighty and anyone else interested. - Red wire to battery, black wire to chassis ground (Pic 2). - Mount NOCO Genius 2D bracket to PLASTIC trim with screws and I used clear silicon...
  7. Does this message pertain to the recall?

For me, the BT was worth the squeeze as there wasn't much squeeze to worry about. I did 5 vehicles following the idea I mentioned in the post I made above and the total cost was less than $350 and no more than five hours of work. As I mentioned in my earlier post, my 2012 F150 FX4 had this...
  8. Does this message pertain to the recall?

Put it on a battery tender! I put a NOCO Genius 2D in all my vehicles. Even when driven "alot," you can still get problems as these newer vehicles have so many vampire devices running when the vehicle is sitting in garage/driveway. So as soon as I get home, I plug it in. Has been going...
  9. Well that's it.... We've had it with Ford and this Bronco Sport

We may just have to do that. But it's not anything we'd look forward. Long drive from SoMD to start. But once you get there the fun begins. We were in Forest City shortly after we bought the RV to see where it was "born" and to take in the museum, etc. Cool place to visit. We also wanted to...
  10. Well that's it.... We've had it with Ford and this Bronco Sport

Beat me to it, re: RV dealerships. Just had a problem with mine and tried to call the local RV dealer for Winnebago. Had to leave a message; never returned the call. Then I called the dealership that sold me the RV a few years back (several hundred miles away). Was told I could schedule an...
  11. Well that's it.... We've had it with Ford and this Bronco Sport

It has been a hard thing for me to not get "Red 10" angry that cars - due to the total involvement of computers and software installed in them - are forever in Beta. Remember the good ole days when cars just did car things...? No getting around the fact that cars are orders of magnitude better...
  12. Ford Accessories Airdesign Hood Scoop Recall

My dealership knew NOTHING about it. Not even a rumor. Weird since the TSB said dealerships would be notified by mid-April and for them to contact customers immediately.
  13. 12 volt battery charge state detection recall coming out.

With emphasis on "vindicates." I absolutely despise ASS (an absolutely perfect acronym for an ASS-inine "feature").
  14. Fog affects precollision assist/front camera

Exactly. Bottom line, if it's normal behavior, why does Ford feel it necessary to alert me? You'd think. Right? That Ford would have in place something that prevents the condition from happening that it's warning me about?
  15. Fog affects precollision assist/front camera

Maybe so. And good to know it's in the manual. Having said that, I'll add that I find these "alerts" that randomly pop up during these conditions to be, at a minimum, annoying. Actually, one could say they're bordering on dangerous. It causes one to take one's eyes off the road - during lousy...
  16. Fog affects precollision assist/front camera

Had this happen the other day for the first time on my Ranger with the front camera. Due to the cold and rainy weather there was significant condensation on the inside of the windshield when I went out to start it. Went through the drill of cleaning everything I could find. In the end, it...
  17. Anyone try a different battery brand?

I did a look at my NOCO purchases (over the last 5-8 years) this morning as I was responding (above).... Given the amount of NOCO products I have (and am using) I should have bought stock! Great products (especially if one can wait for a sale). Their lithium start-up batteries (for motorcyles...
  18. Anyone try a different battery brand?

I'm a huge NOCO fan and was thinking of trying to do something similar. I had a NOCO Genius 2, but didn't want to go through the hassle of cutting the clamps off and setting up the ring connectors (easier to do on larger NOCO units). So to find out that the NOCO 2D was available...? Gold...
