  1. Benefits of free trade vis-a-vis new vehicle costs.

You missed my point entirely. I said that with the threat of tariffs looming the Chinese imported rice from the US to attempt to win favor and stave off the tariffs. The amount was not important, it was the fact that they did it in the first place. That was what I pointed out. Then you...
  2. Benefits of free trade vis-a-vis new vehicle costs.

Look, @Mark S. I said didn't want to get into a pissing match with you. Then you chose to start a thread to call me out. At least have the decency to answer the questions I asked first.
  3. Benefits of free trade vis-a-vis new vehicle costs.

Since you want to call me out on a new thread, Mark, how come you selectively quoted me yet neglect to address, let alone include the following? Your base your entire argument on the concept of free trade. But free trade only exists in text books and theoretical economics, especially when...
  4. Potential Price Increases

Mark, I really was not trying to get into a pissing match with you over the veracity of Wikipedia sources. Prior to going down this rabbit hole, my original point above was that in response to the tariff threat in his first admin, the Chinese imported rice from the US. The Reuters article I...
  5. Potential Price Increases

Respectfully Mark, Wikipedia is about the last source I'd refer to when Trump is involved. The bias of their editing team against him is well documented. That being said, a quick google search provided this link from Reuters...
  6. Potential Price Increases

Certainly is, but the byzantine governmental regulations from all angles here do not exist overseas, especially in China. That's a massive chunk of the landed cost that gets ignored. I'm going to throw another perspective on tariffs to this: Tariffs are a protectionist policy, certainly. They...
  7. Sold my Badlands to CarMax Today - Its Gone

Since you're local to me... what Honda dealer did you work with? The Passport is on the short list to replace ours.
  8. 2024 SEMA Show Concepts Previewed: Bronco Sport Wild Fund Project Vehicle

Are you a member of Tread Lightly or any off road clubs/groups/organized trail rides? People who enjoy the great outdoors responsibly far outweigh those who don't. If anything, we're better stewards of the land and water than the majority of environmental activists because we want to ensure...
  9. 2024 SEMA Show Concepts Previewed: Bronco Sport Wild Fund Project Vehicle

Both Broncos are meh. The ORV is a nice combination to make the lower spec trucks more look more butch. At least they are showing it with a V8. And the FP700 and F100 restomod? Hell yes. There is nothing like a fire breathing, stupidcharged V8. Take that, Greenies!
  10. it does not display the time

I appreciate your suggestions. Replies below. This has been done several times, as well as re-loading the software. Still persists. Apple OEM cables across the board. This has occurred when leaving the phone plugged in while I exit the car and when removing it. The other day I was using...
  11. it does not display the time

Certainly. -Sync does not not always link the current song info on the video screen with the dash cluster. Sometimes it will catch up, sometimes it will not after changing multiple channels or tracks. -Periodically it will not connect to CarPlay after turning off but it was just on. Think of...
  12. Bidding Farewell to my Bronco Sport

And all of that has to be able to handle the extremes of temperature. That being said much of the complexity comes from regulators for better and worse.
  13. it does not display the time

That mimics reviews I've read as well. I think part of my general irritation is a distaste for the things Ford did/didn't do on these and the issues that cannot seem to be diagnosed like my transmission issue or the intermittent Sync problems that are "solved" by reinstalling the software...
  14. it does not display the time

Speak for yourself. I have the latest Sync 3 build and it is full of bugs. Not as bad as the previous but still not perfect. I've had that same "update" done three times and it still isn't right. And that doesn't speak to the Sync 4 ongoing issues in other vehicles per the dealers.
  15. it does not display the time

Check your version against the current build/updates. If you search through the forums you should be able to find how to check it ( I can't remember how, sorry) and update. It does take a while to update FWIW, around an hour or so. Sync is notoriously buggy.
  16. Made appointment, took BS to dealership, found out I only scheduled to drop off vehicle

This is why- Family owned and I'm guessing only one store. Not that a family-owned store would be automatically better but there's a good chance that the owner is involved directly with the operations on a day to day basis and has built relationships with repeat customers such as yourself. Most...
  17. Made appointment, took BS to dealership, found out I only scheduled to drop off vehicle

My experience was a little different-- dropped it on Sunday for a first thing Monday appointment, they didn't look at it until late Thursday-- but shows the same complete lack of respect for the customer's time. The dealer experience is consistently awful. Hope you find one that is decent.
  18. Transmission shudder

Sure could but I'd rather have them deal with the transmission issues while under warranty then unload it as soon as the warranty goes up on something else. Rant time. TL/DR- $46K for this was about $10K too much. Ford's bean counters ruin everything. I am a Ford fan and stockholder for a very...
  19. Transmission shudder

Interesting "fix" of sorts. I'm a bit leery of the Marvel Mystery Oil, Stop-Leak, etc additives generally speaking but there is something to the research you did on the trans and torque converter and how GM handled it. End of the day, I really can't tell what the issue is, just that it...
