Way back when I bought my '21 Sport OB no one could tell me if the trans coolers were the same in both the non tow package and the tow package. With the help of the local parts guy and the rep we found that by looking at VIN numbers the tow package had a different trans cooler than the standard...
Those look good on the your Mav. I think they were originally the optional 18" alloy wheels for the Big Bend. I had the dealer put my second set of Outer Banks 18's on when I picked up mine as I wasn't a fan of the BAP 18" factory wheels that originally came on my Maverick either.
I had one of the original 1.5 water pumps. Bought the upgraded spare just to have on hand in case they were backordered if I needed a replacement and I was in the middle on nowhere. That Sport is gone and the new unused pump is sitting in the box on the workbench.
Got my Mav w/4K in November '23. Was lucky to find it with everything I wanted on line at a dealer about 100 miles from me as someone had decided they wanted a different one the day before it came in. Everyone else was waiting for months at the time. Drove up and bought it and the truck came in...
Yes, larger cooling fan, larger transmission cooler, different gear ratio, 7 pin and 4 pin connectors, and the factory trailer brake controller with dash controls and display.
Same engine/power but the tow package changes the gearing so it's quicker off the line. Regular Mav is about the same. Biggest difference for my use is the tranny doesn't get hot like the BS did when towing.
Had the 1.5. for a couple of years. It was fine on acceleration in Sport mode and good on gas but was limited in towing. 2.0 isn't much better. Had a 2.0 BL for a few days. Went with a Maverick 2.0 w/4K towing. More power and even quicker than the BL. shaves 2 seconds off 0-60. Bought it for...
My Sport worked that way. Up slightly when on. Down when off.
On the Maverick the passenger side normally sticks up all the time, even when off. Ford got lazy.
I towed it for two camping seasons here in the Northeast, Adirondacks, Poconos, Smokey Mountains. Keeping an eye on it, It was fine except on long upgrades the transmission tended to run a little hotter. I traded it over the Winter for a Maverick with the 4K tow package. Now the transmission...
I feel no difference on the interior seating height. Controls are the same as my Sport. Everything in my Maverick XLT feels pretty much the same as my Bronco Sport. The Mav overall seems to sit a little higher. My Bronco Sport all weather floor mats fit my Mav perfectly. The shape of the hood is...
I traded my OB for a Maverick XLT with the 4K tow package. I liked the sport but the 1.5's transmission was heating up on long hills towing 2K. Planning on some larger hills so I figured it was time. Towed fine otherwise on the flats but the Maverick AWD with the 2.0 and larger transmission...
I traded my OB for a Maverick XLT with the 4K tow package, not a full size Bronco. Didn't want the Bronco's soft roof as we carry too much on top. I liked the sport but the 1.5's transmission was heating up on long hills towing 2K. Planning on some larger hills so I figured it was time. Towed...
