Sorry to hear this. I am worried about what will be the next thing to break on my Bronco. I am closing in on 72,000 miles. I keep up with all the maintenance, but had to spend $1,200 about a month ago to fix a couple things that Ford knew was a problem but refused to cover it in any way. I...
Read through the recall notice. The impression I get is this is a half-assed solution by Ford. A tube to drain off any leaking fuel, and some software re-programming? What if a fuel injector does crack? If I am out of warranty (which I am), I have to pay to replace the substandard fuel...
Took my Bronco Sport to the dealer for it's regular oil change. When they were done, they had me go out into the shop to talk to the mechanic who worked on my vehicle. I have two problems, a leaking CV axle seal, and both my rear shocks are leaking. I am out of warranty, my Bronc has 65,000...
Bought my Bronco Big Bend in February of 21, so has been almost two years now. 61.000 miles; yes, I drive a lot. Had an issue with one leaking shock, which was replaced. The other issue was with the coolant level going down occasionally, but that no longer seems to be a problem, although I keep...
Have another situation to report on. My windshield was hit by stone on a trip home from northern Michigan. Didn't notice anything since I was driving in the dark. Found a 12 inch crack in my windshield Friday morning. Can see where the stone hit on the far end of the passenger side, another inch...
One thing I forgot to mention is I replaced the Continental tires that came with vehicle. They really wore down quickly, I think I maybe made 38K miles. I also had them get punctured twice by road debris. On my other vehicles over the years, I could usually get 50K out of a set of tires.
A number of reasons to change transmission fluid:
- Does act as a lubricant, it loses the ability to lubricate over time
- Cools the transmission components
- Collects and suspends contaminants
Worn fluid reduces capability to do the above. Changing fluid once in a while is a cheaper...
Just broke the 51,000 mile mark on the odometer, so thought I should report in. I have a 2021 Big Bend with the 1.5 3 cylinder engine. Of course I do drive a lot. Numerous trips from my home in southeast Wisconsin across the U.P. of Michigan, Detroit, southern Indiana and Kentucky, Twin Cities...
14 months,38,000 miles on my Big Bend. My only issue is the factory tires, the Continentals. I am actually getting rid of them today. Never seen a tire that punctures so easily. I have posted on other threads about surface rust on the brake calipers, that seems to only occur in wet conditions...
I posted on another similar forum topic about this issue. Rust can develop on the brake calipers, doesn't take a lot to then cause that noise you are hearing. the rust will wear off as you apply the brakes and the noise goes away. I had a case where the calipers were completely covered in rust...
I get this sound too, and I have attached a picture of why. Some background: Took delivery of my Big Bend addition in February of 2021. I currently have 37,000 miles on the vehicle. I drive a lot, especially for work, and have also taken the Bronco Sport on various trips around the upper...
Safety wasn't my point. My point was people's driving habits. People like to speed, like to do things their way. They like their freedom of driving the way they want, usually within reason, but not always within reason.
What happens with a self driving car and you want to drive 85mph in a 70mph zone, because you are running late? What happens if it doesn't take the route you want it to take? I am talking about a real autonomous system where you climb in the car and tell it where you want to go, and it does the...
I've lost water pumps on cars before, they typically leak and make noise. Not seeing or hearing anything. I went to a Ford Dealer and bought the right coolant and added some to the reservoir myself. I don't think the dealer actually added anything when I asked them to months ago. Could have come...
I had a similar issue, coolant overflow reservoir was dry at about 15,000 miles. Dealer added some antifreeze. Now, at 26,000 miles, if I check when the engine is cold, the reservoir is dry. After the engine gets up to normal temperature, the reservoir then has some coolant in it, I assume due...
I have a Big Bend with the towing package, and it came with a full size spare that matches the size of the other tires. Reason I know this is I drove over a bolt and had to mount the spare and drive on it for a couple days. Checked the size and it matched.
