I have this same intake but on the 1.5L. Great intake. Made a difference not only noise but throttle response as well. I thought it was worth the money.
Wow that’s crazy. Sorry to hear that. I’m creeping up on 70k miles. It is quite concerning to see so many posts on transmission related issues. If that were to happen to me I honestly wouldn’t drop that kind of money. I would get rid of the car in a heart beat.
Almost 3 years of ownership and nearly 70k miles later. 1.5L has been fairly reliable. No major problems besides a few recalls and very minor issues. Only thing I’ve replaced has been the EFB battery to an AGM.
Make sure you are using the recommended 91 octane per the manufacturer for best performance. If that still doesn’t do it for you try installing a k&n washable air filter. The filter alone made a noticeable difference for me before even before installing an aFe Power cold air intake.
That was a different engine and it was discussed

We didn’t get the dragon engine in the US till 2020 I believe.
2017 Ford Escape 1.5 is not the same engine used in the Bronco Sport. That one was an I-4 and this new 1.5L is a 3 cylinder. Dragon engine has been around in Europe since 2018. I haven’t really seen any issues regarding the dragon engine. If anything I’ve heard more issues about the transmission...
You’re probably better off going with Rough Country lift struts. Not sure if Badlands struts are that much of an improvement over yours and the springs only give you like half an inch of lift.
If you off road, stick to 245/65/17 and under. If not then 245/70/17 will fit fine with or without a lift. Any bigger than that will require you to trim pinch weld.
Definitely a cracked catalytic converter. I had this same issue and got much worse over time. Make sure you take the tech on a ride along and make sure they can smell it because if it’s faint they won’t fix it and you’ll get your typical “couldn’t replicate” answer.
I’ve never tried one but I’m assuming all it does is increase/decrease throttle response similar to a pedal commander/sprint booster? Or is this a piggyback for the ecu?
I just replaced my battery this past Sunday with an AGM. Vehicle started fine, drove to my brothers house down the street. Car sat a few hours then when it was time to leave I was able to unlock the doors but when trying to start the vehicle it was completely dead. I didn’t get any warnings on...
Mine shudders at low speeds and has done it since new, 58k miles now. It’s never really concerned me because I believe it’s just the transmission upshifting as much as possible to conserve fuel but causes engine lugging. When I’m stuck in heavy traffic I switch to sport mode which tends to...
