Ford Bronco Short Film Announces “Built Wild” Outdoor Brand and “Off-Roadeo” Offroad Driving Schools

Offer manual transmission on something other than the base option. I am tired of buying bottom feeders and having to aftermarket them to get decent infotainment, seats, etc. I know I won't be getting ANY manual tranny with the Sport, so that's that. So far I have not capitulated and bought a...

    What’s everyone thinking Powertrain?

That would have been my pick too! I'm fortunate to have my 2016 CX-5 with a 6-speed manual. As much as I prefer the shape and utility of the Sport, it will be hard for me to do a slushbox.

Official: Bronco Brand Reveal Coming July 2020!

Do we know the specifics of the "brand reveal"? Is it the actual vehicles, both Sport and real Bronco? Or some promotional garb and another "sneak peak" of "what's to come"?

VIN Decoder Doc Reconfirms 2021 Bronco Sport Engines (1.5L and 2.0L) and Trims (Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, First Edition)

I really wasn't looking for "heavy duty off road capabilities", nor a vehicle like the Renegade, but at least the Renegade did offer a manual transmission until last year. But you're right, despite what Ford declared ("Sport to be tough, rugged"), it looks to be a glorified...

    [Opinion] Bronco Sport Mexican Made

I have a Hiroshima built CX-5 also, with no issues. What I actually stated was, "I have read that there have been some quality issues with automobile manufacturing in Mexico. Honda had some issues with their Celaya, Mexico plant and Mazda with their CX-30" A few years back, I was researching...

    [Opinion] Bronco Sport Mexican Made

From a geopolitical standpoint, it isn't a bad thing for Mexico to have a strong economy and developed industrial base. It would help with immigration issues, cartel crime, and other issues of having a third world county next door. From that standpoint, I would rather see U.S. manufacturers...

VIN Decoder Doc Reconfirms 2021 Bronco Sport Engines (1.5L and 2.0L) and Trims (Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, First Edition)

Becoming more of a turnoff. Wet timing belt (at least in the dragon), Hermosillo-built, no manual tranny, giant arcade screen on the dash. I was hoping for an improved version of my 2006 Escape. I'm beginning to believe the original Escape's success and appeal was bolstered with Mazda's heavy...

    What is wrong with Ford?

Same here on Redline in the Mazda manual. I bet you even noticed better shifting too. I don't believe in snake oils, but each time I switched over to Redline in manuals, it was noticeable. As for the timing belt. I don't like them dry, and I certainly wouldn't want one wet. Funny you...

    What is wrong with Ford?

This thread is reminding me why I bought eight new Fords in my late twenties through my early forties, and not one since. It still fascinates me in how their products changed in ways that lost appeal to me.

Interior of Ford Bronco Sport Revealed!

I drove 4 hours to the Atlanta International Auto Show several years back to get my first peek at the Renegade. Mainly, because I needed to replace my old Escape as it approached a quarter million miles. I ended up not purchasing the Renegade, as it was smaller and cheaper-looking than...

Who's hoping for a Manual Transmission?

Same here. Why make a so-called "exciting vehicle" and take away one of the great pleasures of driving engagement. I suppose everyone would rather be checking their Facebook likes on the giant center screen than actually driving.

Interior of Ford Bronco Sport Revealed!

Looks a bit over-styled, I would have preferred more functional, minimalist styling. The giant arcade game screen is probably a deal-breaker for me.

Who's hoping for a Manual Transmission?

Motorpsychology, you are correct. I am old enough to remember being able to order "a la carte" options on domestic vehicles. Even weird mismatched color options could be special ordered. I would love to get a mid-level trim package, with high-end audio and a manual. Thus far, I've had to...

Who's hoping for a Manual Transmission?

I thought the whole idea of the Bronco was for the enthusiast market. baby or not.

    What’s everyone thinking Powertrain?

I would have guaranteed one sold unit had it had a manual tranny, Hoping for it to be a niche vehicle and not lost in crowd of similars. Driving a manual is part of the fun, regardless of raw performance numbers. Not everyone is stuck in urban congestion.

Photoshop Request.... 2012 Escape (or earlier) overlayed with the Bronco Sport

Actually, it was my 2006 with a 5-speed manual.

Photoshop Request.... 2012 Escape (or earlier) overlayed with the Bronco Sport

I am not proficient enough in Photoshop anymore, plus I don't have a photo of my old Escape at the proper angle. If someone can do anything with this, have at it:

    Bronco Sport Pics!!

I'm with you on the STUPID giant video screens on the dash. Marketing folks think that since phones got bigger, everyone wants (insists) on having a gaudy flat panel on their dash. Major turnoff for me, and many others I know.

    Bronco Sport Pics!!

I think it looks great, it appears to check some my boxes, especially if it has independently opening rear glass. I know it will never happen, but a manual tranny would seal the deal, especially in mid to upper trim. Oh well.

2021 Bronco Sport (Baby Bronco) Will Be Very Rugged, Says Ford Presentation

As for the rugged part, most comments focus on the offroad prowess, I think about utility too. Things that would have appealed to me, a real rear "bumper ledge" even if not a real bumper, to set stuff on. This sounds trivial, but when I'm hooking up a dirtbike/boat trailer or other trailer...
