This is what I wonder about these kinds of cars. If you’re in an area where gas isn’t cheap and not getting more affordable, it it worth it to have a car that’s designed to go off roading when what you’re doing is driving in the suburban areas 95% of the time?

A hybrid motor would be a nice way to bridge that gap.

In more rural areas, I totally understand the appeal. Still wouldnt be my choice though. The Badlands checks the boxes I have. Its a trail car not a rock crawler and thats what I want.
I have a lighting f150 on order. I expect to get it around December, 2023 if I’m lucky. I haven’t gotten my Bronco Sport Badlands yet. 2 weeks left. the big Bronco is nice but the waiting list is insane and I just need a daily driver and something that can drive in sh7tty condition, snow, ice, dirt, mud etc. 28mpg is about the least I will accept for mpg. I live in Los Angeles. Costco gas is $4.30 gallon anywhere else is $5.30. I would probably buy a regular Jeep before I got an expensive Bronco. By the time you get the lockers and tires it’s $50k which is what the lightning is.

Mine is my daily driver. It is definitely more fun to drive than the '15 Escape it replaced. When I get a hankering to drive something bigger, I drive my '19 Ranger. Granted the Ranger isn't a Bronco, but it's pretty close IMHO.

now that's gangster lol.

here in canada, i think a BS badlands is $47,000 and that fullsize are starting at $65,000.
usually $100 grand of bronco is running at the kentucky derby.

epic pic
The same here in Puerto Rico, even worst, I have seen full sized OB and BB rolling out the dealer with $80k payments. Here the places you need to go needing a four wheeler are made thinking more in Suzukis, so a full size is out of the question. If you want to "chinchorrear", for what most of Jeeps are used then go for the full size, but maybe never go off road.

On the subject of am I over the honeymoon, absolutely not! I bought what I wanted. But it surprises me how there's so many people who just don't do enough research before spending money.
True dat !
Then there are the people who just want to be seen in something new and have not a clue what a vehicle does or it’s limitations.

Appreciate all the insights. Especially about the full size Bronc. I agree that waiting for a hybrid would be a good idea too.

Comments about just purchasing the latest fad vehicle are unwarranted though. I DID do my research (for quite a while actually) and test drove before ordering the BS BL.

Real world life use, and unplanned use, sometimes shed light on things only after a while of ownership though.

I actually think with the BS Ford has produced a vehicle which sets the trends rather than an attempt to cash in on a fad. They’ve done their research too on buyers, and I think put together a great product, which if most buyers cross shopping the BS, and choosing others, thought about it, the BS is going to meet 99% of your needs better than the full-size. & the remaining 1%? Honestly I think for most, the BS capabilities as an off-roader exceeds its driver’s skills.

Thinking of a full size Outer Banks replacement.
I added an extra 3 yr warranty as well for a total of 6yr, 120000km full coverage.
Any thoughts from those who have made the move? Were your expectations met, or, was there disappointment?
Well I have not “made the move” but my dealer called and they have an unspoken for Bronco Outer Banks coming next month and he asked if I wanted it. Right now it is mine but I’m feeling the opposite of you. I am liking the Bronco Sport too much and thinking I do not need the full-sized one.

May just get it because people are still paying silly prices for used Broncos and Sports, so should be ok to sell the one I like least.

Fair point there is a cash profit to be had by flipping one.

I was in the same position as you, I had a '21 BS BL and my salesman texted me and told me a abandoned 2dr Bronco OBX was available, I went for a test drive and really liked it. They were selling at MSRP, the sales manger said to me look at it this way, if you buy it and don't like it flip it and make $10k or more. That made perfect sense and I already had a '22 BS BL on order (the Cyber Orange one) so if I didn't like it I could sell it, take the money and get the '22 when it came in. I sold my '21 BS BL and made $2.5k on that. Of course when the '22 BS BL came in there was no way I was parting with the Bronco, but my wife really had liked the '21 BS BL so she took the '22, thus we have both.
They are two totally different vehicles that have only the name in common. Each is unique in their own way, if you want a Escape like SUV then the BS is perfect, if you want a truck like off roader then the Bronco is for you. Practical? Of course not, if I drive carefully I can get 21 mpg, but it's not like the BS is getting Maverick hybrid mpg either. Since I WFH I don't drive as much so mpg isn't as important anyway, life is too short and once you are past 60 it gets shorter so I'm doing what makes me happy and at the moment the Bronco is making me happy.
There is no right answer, it's what's right for you. But I will say if you can get a Bronco for MSRP you would be a fool to pass it up.
