And, folks, look 2 posts up to see the superiority complex in action. There are those who feel the need to be validated and try to confirm they are smarter than everyone else.

Nobody here is an expert and opinions are just that.

Agree, the last thing is have a thread like this devolve like so many others.

I said my peace and don't need to prove anything, nor feel the need to disprove or question others experiences.

Good luck.

I've asked for your references, data, proof, ect. repeatedly. I love to learn new things. If you have data to back your claims I'd like to see it; if I'm wrong I want to know. To date, all you are offering to support your argument is a personal attack.

page 413 of your manual…if you fall within the Extreme usage. Many people actually do…
That section of my manual recommends reduces intervals for extreme use, but it says nothing about non-synthetic oil.

We seem to have different manuals because p413 is about Accessories. But anyway, the manual for my 2025 does not mention different change intervals for synthetic, synthetic blend, or conventional oils. And use of a conventional motor oil does not consitute "extreme use".

I'm a fan of synthetic oil and don't use conventional oil in any of my vehicles, but let's not put words into Ford's mouth by saying things that aren't true.

Ford doesn't recommend conventional oil usage at all...these are the recommended oils for 2025:
Motorcraft® SAE 0W-20 Motor Oil(U.S.)
Motorcraft® SAE 0W-20 Motor Oil / Huile moteur
SAE 0W-20 Motorcraft®(Canada)
XO-0W20-QFS(U.S.)
CXO-0W20-LFS6(Canada)

very interesting that they are not using 5w20 anymore.

In summary, this post was for a question about the proper oil filter, and some people can't help themselves when it comes to misunderstanding the difference between Ford recommending their Motorcraft oil and ford telling us to use the proper viscosity and spec oil.

Thanks everyone.

That's for the 1.5L. The 2.0L takes 5W-30.

Wasn’t there a typo in the 2025 owners manual hellb0y is referring to? Don’t remember but thought there was a post on that already

I just did my first oil change on our new Bronco Sport Outer Banks, and I'm now confused about the correct oil filter. As we know, the 2025 1.5L has the new MPC engine that replaces the old 1.5L "Dragon" engine of years past. The owner's manual indicates that the correct oil filter for this engine is the FL-910-S (https://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?countryCode=USA&languageCode=EN&Uid=G2423536&ProcUid=G2423412&div=f&variantid=10119&vCode=3FMCR9CN8SRE05195&vFilteringEnabled=True&userMarket=USA&buildtype=web), but when I removed the original filter from my car I found it was a h6bg-6714-ba which is about half the "height" of the fl-910-s but has the same diameter and thread pitch.

A 3rd party that sells oil change "kits" (oil and filter) points to the online owner's manual and says the fl-910-s is the correct filter (they also bundled 6qts of oil when only 5 are needed, but since I'll eventually use the extra quart I'm just focusing on the filter for now).

Which filter is correct for the new 1.5l MPC engine?
The only filters I would even consider are the K&N-HP-1002, Wix-51348XP, Baldwin-B7491 Napa (also Baldwin)- FIL 1348MP As for oil, Mobil 1 or Gulf synthetic since for whatever reason this ended up on oil rather than the posted question about the oil filter.

again, that's not what the manual says...5W30 is not offered as an alternative at all...did you read it?...

unless there's a typo somewhere, like someone indicated, looks like Ford went all in with 0W20...

0W30 is the winter alternative.
