This is my post from yesterday. Note the offers for my 2021 BL with 23k miles.

Carmax in Murrieta by far the best offer at $29K. Ford dealer $22.5k. Quite a difference.

Just info in case you decide to go for the 2025.

Thanks, our local dealer offered us $21,000, a dealer 80 miles away offered $26,500, beating the CarMax offer, guess who gets the business? With no add-ons that we didn't want, the local guy wanted $5,500 for EXT Warranty, $4,400 for maintenance plan, $1,900 for paint protections, $1,900 for alarm system. I told him I didn't want it and he said he couldn't take it off but would reduce it to cost of $699...still no deal.

Which dealer is that? Those add on's are a joke. Just about all the dealers are doing it. Here in the people's republic of California, we can't buy the extended warranty out of state (Grangers).

Make the deal you are happy with.

If you're willing to drive, I'm sure there are better deals out there. Even Az.

Probably are, but then the registration and tax in CA is difficult to say the least. Thanks for you replies. Here's where I am right now, pretty much the same deal on 1025 BS Badlands or a 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe XRT......which would you take?

Badlands if you are thinking of going off-roading, camping ... it's a more adventurous SUV vs Santa Fe.

If you think mostly paved road, you'll be better with the Santa Fe IMO.

I chose the badlands because there was plenty of scenarios we had to turn around and couldn't go hiking of some of the nicest places.

I don’t have kids, we are only two. Bronco Sport is plenty big for long distance road trip and carrying camping gear.

Santa Fe is a bigger SUV ... depends on your needs!

Thanks for your reply at this point both deals are about the same, the issues do I want a 173" BS in the garage or a 190" Santa Fe with only 213" available? And are both easily drivable by the wife, who has has three years on the BS.

What about a Hyundai Tucson or the Kia Sportage, both shorter than the Santa Fe.

10 year, 100,000 mile power train warranty on the Hyundai, Kia.

Only you can really make the decision based on your needs.

I've bought 2 vehicles out of state, 1 in Nevada and 1 in Utah. No big deal, just an extra smog check and other paperwork at DMV or AAA if your a member.

After watching this forum for three years and hearing many horror stories of problems with various components of the BS and some costly repairs
in the $10,000 range for transmissions, RDUs, engines, Turbos, etc. we have been concerned about the long term viability of our 2022, even though
we have only had the original battery die and leave us stranded (fortunately in our garage), but replaced promptly with an AGM by mobile service
from our dealer, the brake noise issue when backing up on a cold start, and some warm as well, and a taillight, also replaced by the dealer. We are
wondering two things,
1) Is the forum mostly a place for complaints about problems and the actual percentage of BS owners experiencing good experiences and no problems?
2) Have any of the issues I have read about and mentioned been addressed by Ford and the 2025 actually a much better quality vehicle for the long run?
Can anybody provide any insights that might help us make our decision?
Also looking at a 2025 Hyundai XRT as well, anybody gone there?
Thanks in advance for your comments.

1. Most of the time, people join forums to either complain about an issue or because they are passionate and want to join a community. So you're going to get some bias. I know 2 other people that own BSs and, while they're not super close, I think they're close enough where they would tell me if they have any issues.

2. I have a 2023 Big Bend with 24k miles. The only issue I've had is the water pump and that was just a little low. The dealership may have seen some leaking but I didn't. They did replace it though.

What should you do? From my perspective, I'd say keep your BS if you're happy. But an extended warranty if you can get one cheap enough. Or self finance any issues. A lot of the decision comes down to how much money you can spend, what you're planning to do with the BS, and if the upgrades to the 2025 are worth it. For me, I'm really eyeing the Black Diamond package because I do go off pavement sometimes. Nothing too exciting but the extra protection would help me to be a little more confident. The only thing holding me back is I have 40+ years of being taught to buy used and cheap. This is my first new car since 1999 and it just felt awkward buying it.

Had a '23 Badlands with never an issue. Traded up to a '25 Badlands Sasquatch with tech package and have to say it's like driving a completely different vehicle. Smoother. Quieter. More responsive acceleration. Better brakes. Inside is nicer particularly the dash area. About 600 miles now and took a trip involving a 4-hours at a pretty consistent 65 mph over flat roads and got 30.3 mpg at fill-up. That's 5mpg better than I ever got with my '23.
PS: I have 1.25" hub-centric spacers on to get the wheels where they are.

There are over 600,000 Bronco Sports on the road today in North America of which 99% have been problem free, myself included. Unfortunately most owners tend not to post about how great these vehicles actually are

I think your estimate of 99% problem free may be high. If you consider recalls and TSB’s as problems, which I do, and then add actual issues for service related troubles, it is probably higher.

Only a small percentage of owners are on this forum so there’s no way I or anyone else can give an accurate estimate of how many owners are actually driving trouble free Sports.

Other than the recalls my BL has been staying out of the dealership just like I want. so I’m not a pissed off owner. Just trying to be realistic. I don’t think any manufacturer is at that level.

So it's "All Over Now" as Dylan would sing. Decided the Santa Fe was a little big for us and our garage, and who needs three sets of seats at 80 and 72 and no grandkids, it's gets less than average MPGs and lacks numerous things the Bronco Sport Badlands has, such as power seats for the passenger, no memory seats for the driver, no Homelink garage door opener and probably others if I had more time to assess the differences. Bought another BS Badlands, basically top of the line, with a tow hitch that I missed so much on our 2022 because at the time they said "we can't get them", after having a hitch for 35 years. Why do the deliver then with 45 PSI in the tires when the door sticker says 33 PSI, just fixed that. A little hard getting used to the touch screen stuff, but we'll (I'll) figure that out. Thanks for all your responses. Also, a Hyundai article on Google about
engine and paint problems on earlier vehicles, sunk the Santa Fe as well, that after the Hyundai sales manager said the paint had a 10 year warranty, no it doesn't. Thanks for all your responses, I'll be back with a new picture soon. Geez I hate giving up a 5 yr, 60k bumper to bumper and 100,000 10 yr power train warranty, and 3 years of maintenance, but he BS won out in the end!

I gave up a vehicle I really did like (2023 AT4X canyon) 12.5k miles. Loved he tech but at 69 years old getting in and out daily with my dachshunds was too much for me. Got an even trade for a 25 BS BL Sasquatch which I really like even though I am a Toyota fan and we still have a RAV4 as well. Been driving pickups for almost 45 years. Don't really need one anymore. Will buy a light aluminum trailer if I ever need to run to Lowes Hardware for longer items or pull my Kawasaki Mule Pro MX to the shop or up to a trail. US Navy ETC Retired living on 165 acres where we still don't have a flashing yellow light.

So you Like the New MPC 2.0 Eco Boost over the older 2023 2.0 Eco Boost and think it has better response and better acceleration than the 2023? I was waiting for someone to compare the 2 as i bought a 2025 Maverick XLT AWD with the 2.0 MPC Eco Boost and almost bought a 2024 with the same drivetrain. Although i didn't like the Black Wheels on the 2024 and i liked the color of the 2025 and the wheels better than the 2024. And is your New Badlands Desert Sand?
