Yes, larger cooling fan, larger transmission cooler, different gear ratio, 7 pin and 4 pin connectors, and the factory trailer brake controller with dash controls and display.

upgraded drivetrain, have additional standard equipped and are a more capable vehicle.
The problem with claims like this is how you define "upgraded" and "more capable." If fuel economy is your primary consideration is the 2.0L an upgrade? If road manners and creature comforts are your primary consideration is the BL more capable?

My guess is that after downing (quickly) a few of these one cares not one bit about ride quality or MPG.

So when I get into one of those "I don't really care" states I am eventually reminded of my preference when I see the "Team Bronco Sport 2.0l" waterproof sticker I have affixed to the inside of my toilet bowl!

If it is, I don't think you buy a Bronco, a Bronco Sport or maybe not even a Ford at all.

I think so. I've driven both. It has a very different on road feel with the BL trim. It's quicker, yes, but beyond that is has a different feel on both windy roads and city streets. More stable and footed. I don't know exactly which parts make the difference but I subjectively feel better driving it on a city street. We have some actual streets here that are worse than some forest service trails but I haven't tackled those yet. Don't ask, it's a Portland thing.

This is a red herring. There are certainly better options out there if you want better fuel economy, but we are talking about the Bronco Sport lineup, not other vehicles. What if you've decided on a Bronco Sport AND fuel economy is at the top of your list of priorities. Is the 2.0L an upgrade in that situation?

More stable and footed.
I guess this is subjective. I've driven both as well, and I found the non-BL trims much more stable and sure-footed. I believe this is due mainly to the fact non-BL trims have shorter, stiffer springs, lowering the vehicle's center of gravity and reducing body roll in corners.

yes, I originally was willing to put up with a little worse milage when I bought my bronco sport as it was advertised a 8.4L/100km, but it ticked off every other box of features I wanted in a replacement commuter car. I was pleasantly surprised when I was getting 6.7L/100km driving to work and back in the mountains at 75mph, and as low as 5.9 driving in the parries at 55mph (back roads) so in fact with the right tires it is very fuel efficient. but when I went to all terrain tires I lost some not that 6.7 to work and back has change to 7.4L/100km and now in the winter using the remote start all the time, bad slushy roads I am at 8l/100km which is still decent and better than my fusion got which makes me satisfied.

yep the 1.5 is fairly efficient !! I was really hoping Ford was going to get the 2.5 hybrid added to the line up….i am likely replacing my Sport with a hybrid AWD Maverick
