Are there any improvements on the 22's vs the 21's, or just downgrades?

Honestly, not having the perforations in the leather on my 22 OBX is worth all the other losses. The smooth leather looks so much nicer and won't catch all the dust and dirt and crumbs.
I agree with this. I was pleasantly surprised that my '22 did not have perforations in the leather.

It lights up green when engine running. I never noticed it missing till ppl started posting about it. My '16 F150 has green light on button and yeah its a great feature....
This is my first push button startā€¦ My key in all the others never lit up. I canā€™t tell. Oh well, I think Iā€™m sheltered buying a vehicle at the 10 year markā€¦

Yup, me too. Iā€™m perfectly happy coming from a 2006 Escape.

Yes, this was me too when I went in for the Explorer. 1993 Explorer to 2020. Iā€˜d not driven a vehicle newer than the 2000s and honestly didnā€™t know on the test drive how to start the car. Yes things have changed a lot!

Only negatives if you had a ā€˜21. I didnā€™t so I donā€™t ā€œmissā€ them at all.
I had a '21 and now have a '22, but the only thing I would have noticed without reading the forums is the lack of folding headrests. Now that I KNOW the temperature readings are missing from the dials, it bugs me a lot :p

FWIW, I have the button to pop the tailgate on my '22.
