Ive noticed about a 10% drop with a roof rack with spare tire, recovery boards, and hilift jack. But that is town+highway, so an extended highway-only trip I expect a bit worse drop cause aero loads are so much worse at speed.

17 mpg -NYC, always traffic. Still, isn't it terrible? Long trips- no problem 32 mpg. BS OB.

I’m trying eco mode on this tank, hopefully I can get it up to 18. Seems like 21 or even 20 is unachievable in urban stop and go traffic.

I use Eco while driving to work on the highway, about 50mi each way. With careful driving I can average 28-30 mpg this time of year with midgrade 89. No roof top basket, but with 225 K02 tires.

So my latest recording has shown improvements. Most recent tank is showing ~20mpg.

I think it’s got better because I am driving in eco mode, driving more like Ms. Daisy and the car is starting to break in a bit more which I’ve heard mpg will increase as it’s gaining miles.

I just spent 3 weeks in Orange County. I filled up and reset the mpg. No freeway driving and I was averaging between 16 and 19 In Normal mode. It’s all the stop and go. My auto stop was timing out and restarting with my foot still on the brake and still waiting for a green light. The signals are really long in California. I’ve only had the auto stop time out once here in Washington. Good news is I averaged 28-32 overall. I didn’t do a lot if in city driving. Oops, sorry, I have no exterior accessories.

With Yakima aerobars only I haven't noticed much of a drop off. Long term average for me is about 27.5, but I can get around 32 in the right conditions. It really is about driving habits more than anything else I have noticed. I just accelerate to speed limit reasonably and use cruise to keep it there.

And I figured out what the problem was.

God has gifted me a sense of urgency and intention in life and apparently that’s expressed with my right foot.

I did a 3hr drive today in eco mode and I got 22.6mpg so problem resolved I guess. Also mpg tanks at 80mph and that’s my usual freeway speed. And additionally it does seem like I do in fact drive like a pissed off teenager in the city.
Mine was doing better until I stopped using eco and cruise around the city streets (I got complacent driving). I get about 19 average, but on trips I’m in the upper 20s. New it was at 26-28. Then with rack it was 23, mine is quite larger from the looks of it. And with the awning when on…. Forget gas mileage and just enjoy the ride hahaha. And I concur on the tanking. But I tend to tank around 70-75 depending on the wind.

We do get quite a bit of wind where I am also. And that plays a factor as well.

it also does better giving it a remote start for a bit before I go out.
