I pulled into a parking lot and there was a full size Bronco the same colors as my BSOB. Aside from sitting higher, the body really doesn't look much bigger. Wishful thinking on my part maybe.....

How much off roading do you think that big bend has done?

17ā€ in length, 11ā€ wheelbase. 1ā€ or so in width. Yet surprisingly for those differences in length, there does seem to be little more usable area in the full size at least by volume & interior dimensions.
For real! My first test drive was 2-door OBX and I was shocked at the lack of interior cargo room. I then went to Ford website and started looking at interior dimensions. When the dealership called me back I surprised them saying I didnā€™t want to test the 4-door but call me when a Sport is available. For the difference in cargo room I couldnā€™t wrap my mind about the $30k difference in price I was being shown.

image is the difference. For some the 'big' bronco is all the rage...I'll take what my sport can do, and what I ask it to do any day.

The full size Bronco Is a big boy toy. Priced like the Jeeps.
IMO no comparison to my Bronco Sport thatā€™s just an Escape on Steroids,
Really good steroids but still.
Donā€™t get me wrong I really like my BS but I have a 2004 Escape. When I park them close together they too look about the same size.
If a BS in top trim and a Big Bronco headed out into the great beyond. The Big Bronc would leave our little SUVā€™s behind.

I havenā€™t had the chance to drive or even sit in the full size. But yes, the price difference really is that much when you start comparing equivalent features & trims. To get my BS BL in a full-size wouldā€™ve been that much more, and exceeded any amount Iā€˜m comfortable spending on a vehicle. I guess if I had a use case that included that much off reading, but I donā€™t.

Honestly even a BL is overkill for what I need, OB wouldā€™ve done just fine. As it would for the majority of full sizes I see around the city. I guess for some that image does really make the difference, after all Land Rover seems to have no problem selling Defenders to everyone here, but honestly I think the Sport has enough of that image to make it a compelling choice.

Almost twice the price!
Not really. Base against base and Badlands against Badlands. Base prices are roughly equivalent and Badlands are 10k more. Now, thereā€™s a lot off differences but two completely different vehicles. Iā€™ve got a 2 door Badlands on order so Iā€™m speaking from my standpoint. Iā€™m not getting the V6 because I want the 7sd. I also upgraded to the Badlands because I wanted the high package as well and wasnā€™t willing to give up the 7sd.

That being said a 30k base sport compared to fully loaded Wildtrack is twice the price.

The supposed ā€œallowed dealer markupā€ is what got it. 2-door OBX with some add ons had a $47k sticker then they showed a $10k mark up. It was $62k bottom line. So not a full $30k more than my Sport OBX But pretty dang close. Congrats on your Badlands

Getting mine through Granger (some year). 2k under invoice so no stealership funny business for me. The gave me the BSBL for 6% under invoice. Helps them with allocations and got me a vehicle way sooner than the 2 door will come in.

Almost twice the price!
Do you remember when A talking head said, ā€œThe big Bronco Base Is priced right where the Top of the line Bronco sport sitsā€
I remember that.
If I had $75,000 to burn Iā€™d pay off my home and buy a Bronco Sport Base model.
